Google.com usually redirects to country/region specific Google search site when you are in that particular region/country. And if you want to avoid this redirection, then here is a trick which I today learnt from life hacker.
You just have to type this - google.com/ncr. NCR means no country redirect. By doing this, it redirects to Google.com irrespective of country/region in which you are currently. You also don't see /ncr after you press enter.
