First Solar powered intercontinental flight completes

For all who have interest in Solar power, the good news is first intercontinental flight based on solar power got success last night.

It was Solar Impulse plane who completed flight b/w Madrid, Spain, & Morocco running entirely on solar power. This journey took total of 20 hrs. The airplane has 208 foot wide carbon-fiber wings having 11628 solar cells. These solar cells charge the lithium-ion batteries and the power propellers.

Piccard is the man behind this project and he has plans to fly the whole world using this only.
