What is NFC? NFC vs Bluetooth

Now a days you will be seeing in ads about NFC technology on Nokia smart phones or Samsung android beam. So here I am going to tell you what it is actually?

NFC is near field communication technology based on RFID systems. It means if 2 phones are in close proximity or are kept back to back they can share data but those 2 phones must have NFC enabled.


Uses/Applications-
 - for contactless payments like google wallet
 - sharing contacts, photos etc.
 - making friends on facebook
 - playing multiplayer games

NFC vs Bluetooth
NFC doesn't required pairing like bluetooth
NFC operate at slower speeds than bluetooth
Connection b/w NFC devices establishes automatically in less than a second; no device configurations required
NFC is operable in shorter range
NFC is compatible with existing passive RFID systems
